Created after the February 6 Earthquakes by the students and academic members of METU Faculty of Architecture, the Urgent Design Studio is to suggest alternative solutions for temporary living units. With the great effort of the team, a prototype of a temporary living unit "Paper Log House" is created through the collaboration between Urgent Design Studio and Shigeru Ban Architects and Voluntary Architects Network. The opening of the "Paper Log House" will take place with the participation of Shigeru Ban and his team on May 3, 2023, at METU Faculty of Architecture.

Within the scope of the program, Pritzker Award-winning architect Shigeru Ban, known for temporary shelter and temporary structure solutions in various parts of the world after disasters, will hold a conference titled "Balancing Architectural Works and Social Contributions".

As the METU Faculty of Architecture and the Urgent Design Studio team, all parties are cordially invited to the conference of Shigeru Ban to be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 13:00 at the METU Architecture Amphitheater, which will be followed by the opening of the "Paper Log House" prototype.
