Bahar GEDİKLİ, Prof. Dr. (retired in January 2024)
She graduated from the Department of City and Regional Planning at METU. She obtained her Master’s degree from Urban Policy Planning and Local Governments at METU. She worked as a visiting scholar at Politecnico di Milano, and a visiting lecturer at Technical University Munich. She completed her PhD. at the Department of City and Regional Planning at METU.
She was a research assistant between 2000-2005. She received her Professor title in 2019. She worked as Deputy Head of Department between 2006-2007 and 2011-2013. She was Head of Department of Music and Fine Arts between 2016-2019. Also, Gedikli was Chairperson of Department of Strategic Planning Commission in the Department of City and Regional Planning.
During her academic work at the Department of City and Regional Planning, Bahar Gedikli taught courses such as CRP372 Planning Theory, CRP401-402 Planning Studio VII-VIII, CRP407 Principles and Approaches of Ecology in Planning, CP706 The Strategic Spatial Planning: Principles, Techniques and Practices, CRP407 Principles and Approaches of Ecology in Planning and ESS503 Sustainable Development. Her research has focused on contemporary planning approaches and methods, strategic spatial planning, participatory planning, urban policies, climate change and sustainable urban development.
