Erhan ACAR, Lect. (retired in October 2010)
He graduated from the Department of Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1970. He completed his Master's degree at the Department of Architecture at METU in 1975. After working as a consultant at the Ankara Municipality for a time, he worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of City and Regional Planning at METU from 1978 to 1985. Between 1985 and 1991, he worked on architectural projects in Istanbul. In 1991, he returned to his position in the Department of City and Regional Planning at METU.
In addition to teaching CRP 410 History of Housing and UD 501-502 Urban Design Studio I-II, his research focuses on the history of housing, the relationship between work and housing types, informal housing as worker housing, and the analysis and design of housing types.
