The Master of Regional Planning program at METU Department of City and Regional Planning, established in the academic year of 1966 - 1967, is the first postgraduate program of regional planning in Türkiye.

The program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates economic, social, and environmental aspects of regional development.

With a strong focus on spatial analysis, sustainable planning, and governance, students gain the skills needed to address regional inequalities, urban-rural linkages, and climate resilience.

Shaped by the visionary leadership of pioneering scholars from its inception, the program continues to influence both regional planning theory and practice.

Today, the program introduces Prof. Dr. Menelaos Gkartzios, renowned for his expertise in urban-rural mobilities, social change, governance, and housing policy, with a more focused and dynamic curriculum for the future.

The applications can be made through https://oibs2.metu.edu.tr/Ms_Phd_Applications/ until May 16, 2025.
