As part of the CRP446 Climate Responsive Urban Design course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ender Peker and Res. Assist. Aybüke Balahun Çoban, students are reimagining a bazaar area in Kadıköy to create a climate-responsive public space (the bazaar) that remains functional beyond market days. The project is being carried out in collaboration with Design Atelier Kadıköy (TAK). To experience the site and get in contact with various actors, on April 29, 2025, a one-day field trip is organized and conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ender Peker, Res. Assist. Aybüke Balahun Çoban, Res Assist. Ayşegül Sarı and Res. Assist. Eren Efeoğlu to Kadıköy, İstanbul. We would like to thank Kadıköy Municipality, vice-mayors Başar Necipoğlu and Soykan Alkan, also the representatives from directorates of the municipality and to all participants for their valuable collaboration, support, and hospitality.
