Graduated from the State Academy of Fine Arts as architect in 1959. Took part in Eastern Marmara Regional Planning Project. With his scholarship, obtained graduate diplomaa from Netherlands. Taught a course on urban infrastructure until 1975 in the Department of City and Regional Planning at Middle East Technical University. Prepared PhD thesis on housing cooperatives. Served as the President of the Chamber of Architects between 1971-1972.
