Topic: The Impact of Art on the Memory of the City
Art has always been one of the most significant means of expressing both collective and individual memory, as well as experiences related to contemporary life. Throughout history, pivotal moments such as wars, traumas, victories, and social transformations have frequently served as sources of inspiration for artistic production and have been the foci of the artists' work in order to carry the traces of the past into the present and reinterpret them in today's context. While specific urban spaces often become central to these artistic narratives, they also transform into large-scale gallery-like settings. Artistic practices in this context not only reflect a city's cultural, artistic, and historical accumulation but also serve as key indicators of its future vision. This talk will explore the impact of art on urban memory.
All interested individuals are invited to our discussion.
